Unity Baptist Church is seeking a a multi-talented Worship Leader.
This is a full-time position in Newnan, Georgia.
Newnan is in Coweta County, Georgia. Coweta County in part of the Metro- Atlanta area and is one of the fastest growing counties in the state.
Coweta County had population estimates in July 2023 of 155,892 people. The expected population in 2050 is 225,000 people. This growth rate is above the regional average.
Coweta County has 19 elementary schools, six middle schools, and 3 high schools. The University of West Georgia has a campus in Newnan, Ga. Newnan is also home to a campus of West Georgia Technical College.
Unity Baptist Church is located within a mile of vibrant downtown Newnan.
Unity Baptist Church has a large campus of 4 large buildings including a 1600-person seating capacity Worship Center. We are a growing church with the potential to grow much larger.
The Worship Leader position at Unity Baptist Church will entail many duties associated with Praise and Worship Music. You must be a Christ follower who is saved and is faithful to the Lord.
You will be leading between 200 & 300 people with a potential of filling the Worship Center with 1600 people. We are looking for a dynamic leader that can help grow our attendance.
We are looking for someone that can lead primarily Contemporary Christian music with a mix of Traditional Hymns & Southern Gospel. This includes singing and music from the Praise Team.
This person will also direct a choir that sings for part of the worship service.
Other duties will include the following:
- Practicing at least one evening per week with the praise team and choir.
- Lead a couple of songs before the Pastor’s Bible study on Wed. evening.
- Work with our Pastor weekly on the order of service for that week and other issues.
- Knowing our sound system settings and capabilities and leading our sound system people.
- Knowing our video systems and capabilities and leading our video and camera people.
- Start music programs with the Children’s Ministry and our Youth Ministry.
- Develop special music programs for Easter, VBS, Fall Festival, Christmas, etc.
- Work with our Website person for ideas & improvements.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Relieve other staff if practical when they are absent.
- Organize & catalogue our music library.
- Organize & Direct J93.3 radio station sponsored concerts of Christian artists at the Unity Baptist Church facility.
- Make yourself known around town and look for ways to represent Unity Baptist Church.
- Attend an FCA meeting one morning per week at a nearby school.
- There will be other responsibilities as we grow.
