Summary
Gideon was to become God's man he just did not know it when the Angel of the Lord began speaking to him. Gideon wanted to believe but he continued to make excuses for his inability to do what God wanted. While the majority of his excuses were really his fears and he continued to take God out of the equation. He even tested God on two occasions because of his fear. God was very patient with Gideon but was very firm. He was not letting Gideon do what he wanted but the Lord required Gideon to His will.
