Passage: Matthew 9:35-36

Preacher: Dr. Doug McCart

Category: Putting Action to your Christian Life

Keywords: preaching, shepherd, healing, teaching, sheep, weary, compassionate, scattered

Summary

Jesus traveled around the countryside visiting cities and villages. He taught in the synagogues, preached the gospel to the people, and healed every sickness and disease among them. There was a physical and spiritual healing of the people. But when he came in contact with the multitudes, He had compassion for them because they were weary and had no spiritual leader, no shepherd to care for them. He gave an outstanding example for all Christians on how we should treat those that we come in contact in the world and our community. Teach them, preach to them, and do all you can to take care of their physical needs and ailments. He had compassion for the as we should also have compassion on those around us. His was true compassion, and so should ours be.
