Detail
The sin of Adam and Eve was passed on to their children, even though they did understand the implications of their actions. Cain was arrogant and jealous, he was angered by the fact that God did not accept his offering (sacrifice). Even when God questioned him, he did not ask for forgiveness just made more excuses and got angrier. His anger then caused him to turn on his brother and kill him. Then when questioned by God where Abel was, he lied and tried to hide the murder from God. Sin quickly overtook Cain and he was not able to control himself.
