Summary
Nehemiah was a Godly man that listened to when God spoke to him. He was also the King's cupbearer and therefore was under other laws and traditions that had to be kept. He had to always smile and be happy in the presence of the King. He knew there were others watching him as they were jealous of him and would report him if he did anything wrong. God placed on his heart that plight of the remaining Jews that were left in Jerusalem. They had not secuirty because the walls had been torn down and destroyed. Wild animals roamed the streets and it was not safe. God Called Nehemiah to repair the wall and bring Jerusalem back to a safe and secure city. Nehemiah wanted to do as God commanded but he was worried that the King would be upset and would have him removed. God had other plans for Nehemiah and when Nehemiah accepted God's plan. Well the rest is history. Jerusalem got the wall.
