Summary

How would you describe your walk with Christ, do you claim Christ or are you a follower of Christ. Today's sermon by Nate will clearly define the difference between claiming Christ and following Christ.

Detail

When you claim Christ there is no committment on your part to do anything.  Claiming just means you recognize who Christ is but you have not chosen to follow through with the committment.  When you follow Christ, there are some very clear steps you must take.   First you must respond to the call.  There is action that is required.  Christ calls us to follow, He then waits to see what your response will be.  When you follow then there is a call to action.  The sermon today shows that Simon Peter had to listen to Christ then take action by putting the nets over the side even though he had doubts.  Christ made a promise to Peter.  The promise was that there would be a catch and not only did Christ honor the promise He fulfilled it overflowing  There were too many fish, the nets were breaking and he need James and John's boat to bring in the whole catch.  It was more than enough for one boat and two boats.  Christ showed them that when they followed Him there were promises that would be fulfilled by Christ.
